Day 7 - Veronica 1/12/23

  Today we continued rendering, rigging, animating, and adding more things to our final project. We have been working very hard on getting our individual pieces finished up, and the effort we have been putting into them is evident in their sheer amount of detail.


 We have been working together with Mr. Beradino to create a final scene where we can proudly display them, and have even been incorporating elements outside of our computers into our final presentation, such as a fog machine and laser cutters. We have also been working on several rendering tactics and exporting them onto our desktop as images and animation. As a group, we also discussed what direction this project should go and what we need to do to get to our end goal. 


Overall, with our diligent workflow and the time and frustration we have been putting into our work, we are excited to be able to present what we have created to everyone.

Blog For The 3rd Day - Time Based Media

Alexander McGill   January 6th, 2022  Today we started the day by watching tutorials and building a maze on Blender. It was pretty rough in the beginning because a lot of people couldn't download the Blender Game engine, but once we figured that out, it was pretty good. To make the maze, we had to build it and actually script our character to move. So it was pretty tough, but in the end we all got it and they turned out well.  Here is a maze that  Aurora made using Blender game engine.  After that, we went to the MFA, where we did some more 3D scanning, and learned about time based media. Time based media is a work of art that unfolds over time. We saw a few examples of this at the museum, and they were all really interesting. We saw one that really connected to us because it was extremely detailed digitally rendered trees swaying in the wind (Fig 1). Day 6, 01/11/2023

Today, we all took a big step forward towards the final product of our projects, and aiming towards a beautiful and well edited interactive experience. Our sixth day started off with a group meeting to assess what we had completed so far, and to brainstorm how all the individual work could be incorporated into one project. This was a big step forwards from simply scanning objects... now, all of us have gotten to some degree of animating sculptures we saw at the MFAH, ranging from people and animals to objects and artefacts. Our discussion brought us to the conclusion that if we made an interactive world, with different spawn points to all of our works, the viewers would be able to be immersed in all of our environments. Day 5, January 20, 2022

Day 5 - Armatures and Animations January 10, 2023   On day 5, we started the morning by working on our Blender project, modeling, rigging, and animating our scans. We continue putting the information we gathered from the art museum, increasing user immersion. Midway through the day, Mr. Beradino taught us more about rigging and camera control details. We then implemented what we learned by polishing our models and rigs. At the end of the day, we all gathered for the last lesson of the day and how to render your scenes in Blender.
